• Student Code of Conduct
  • Students are strictly required to adhere to the rules and regulations of Mokpo National University.
  • The student shall bear full legal and administrative responsibility for any issues arising from non-compliance.
• Life Guidance & Adaptation Support
  • To help students adapt to life in Korea, the center provides various programs, including Orientation, Korean Cultural Experiences, and Language Exchange Programs.
  • To ensure a stable transition, all new students must reside in the MNU dormitory for their first term. Off-campus housing after the first term is subject to prior approval by the university.
  • A dedicated Prayer Room is available on campus for Muslim students.
• Korean Language Training
  • Korean language training programs are available for interested applicants only.
  • Please note that separate tuition fees apply for language training programs.
• Dormitory Fees
  • Dormitory fees vary depending on the building and include three meals per day.

• Part-time Employment Regulations
  • General Rule: Employment is strictly prohibited in principle for D-4 visa holders.
  • Exception: Employment is only permitted after obtaining "Permission for Activities Beyond Status of Residence" from the Immigration Office.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Degree-seeking students (D-2 visa), Language trainees (D-4 visa) who have completed at least 6 months (one semester) of study.

    • Undergraduate students in extra semesters are not eligible to apply.
  • Application Process
    • Preparation of Documents

      Prepare a Standard Labor Contract with your employer.
      Hourly wage and working days/hours must be explicitly stated.
    • University Approval

      Obtain the signature of the International Student Advisor.
    • Immigration Approval

      Submit documents to the Mokpo Immigration Office for final authorization.
  • Required Documents: Application Form, Passport & Alien Registration Card, Certificate of Enrollment & Academic Transcript, Standard Labor Contract & Part-time Work Confirmation Form, Copy of Business Registration Certificate (Employer's), TOPIK Score Report (Original)
    • Minimum Wage: KRW 10,320 per hour (As of 2026, The same rate applies to both Korean citizens and international students.)
    • Permitted Industries & Restrictions
      • Permitted: Simple labor and general part-time jobs.
      • Prohibited: Professional fields, dispatched work, or subcontracting.
      • Exceptions: Manufacturing and construction are generally restricted but may be allowed for those with TOPIK Level 4 or higher.
      • Restrictions: Foreign language education for minors (tutoring) and certain other industries are strictly restricted.
    • Administrative Sanctions for Violations
      • Unauthorized Employment: Working without prior legal authorization will result in fines and potential deportation under the Immigration Act.
        • ‧ 1st offense: A warning or fine may be issued, and stay may be permitted depending on the severity and nature of the violation.
        • ‧ 2nd offense: Mandatory Compulsory Deportation (Expulsion from Korea).
      • Violating permission conditions
        • ‧ 1st offense: Severe Warning.
        • ‧ 2nd offense: Suspension of work permit.
        • ‧ 3rd offense: Visa Cancellation.
• Driver’s License Information
  • International Driving Permit (IDP)
    • Valid for one year from the date of entry into Korea.
    • After one year, you must obtain a Korean domestic license.
  • License Exchange
    • Foreign licenses may be exchanged for a Korean license through KoROAD (Road Traffic Authority).

  • Domestic License
    • Students may obtain a new Korean license by passing the written and practical driving examinations.
